ons vra verskooning vir die kort onderbreking

Sorry folks. I have been feeling quite ill for the last few days. The doctor says he has no earthly idea it's a virus, but I do have some spots on throat. I just have no energy for blogging. I'll get back to you all as soon as I am able.

Hallo Blacky,

Sounds, looks and spells (??) Dutch or Flemish. Nothing wrong with that but till now I always imagined you to be a US expat or simply a Jew from the United States of America.

Neveer thought about you and the other bp's as Europeans.

Thus: beste wensen voor een gelukkig gezondheit.

Cheers and tinkety-tonk

Actually Georg, we're (bwo and myself) South African by birth, US and Israeli by citizenship. That was actually Afrikaans (I had to do a serious google to find it). It was what used to be flashed on the TV screen when the pathetic excuse for T.V. in S.A. was on the blink.

But thanks for the wishes. I'm still not at full strength.

So what does it actually mean Petero?
Not all of us ex-South Africans actually speak Afrikaans.

Hi Blacky,

Thanks for explaining. Never thought about that possibility. I am a very poor Sherlock Holmes when it comes to guessing and deducting.

I know a little Dutch because I lived years in Belgium but the phrase looked a little bit outlandish to me.

If you feel like it, have a look at this blog

Like you, Patrick is a South African Jew but living in the USA. But there the similarities seem to stop. He is a rabid Republican ready to tell anything. But when he leaves politics, he must be a very charming person. I'm sure of that.

Wow, That Patrick dude is certainly on the right. Its a little difficult for me to stomach. Extremism has caused so much pain and destruction here in this land. I don't understand how anyone can think they have the solution to the world's problems. Or that their way is the only way.

There are ex-South Africans all over the world. People left for various reasons. I left as soon as I finished 12 grade in 77. I never felt I belonged.
